When you arrive at Bassa d'Elca you will find a link with the PR-CV213 network of footpaths that will take you up to the summit of Benicadell.

These trails are beautiful, Mediterranean forest in all its splendour, eating blackberries, breathing fresh air. When you walk along these paths you will feel the change of temperature in summer, which you will be grateful for, they are a source of positive energy that traps you.

Another route in Salem is the Senda dels Nevaters, known as SL-CV 122, a beautiful route that we recommend to everyone to get to know this beautiful area of #laValldAlbaida.

Through our route proposal that we give you in Wikiloc, with 13 kilometres in https://es.wikiloc. com/rutas-senderismo/senda-dels-nevaters-sl-cv-122-abrigos-rupestres-barranc-de-les-coves-salem-66620942, you will visit the Paller icehouse and the Barcella icehouse; the Font de la Barcella; the Casa del Sastre; the font del Poet; several corrals such as the Copoví; or also a world heritage site, such as the Barranc de les Coves cave paintings, or the Calvario de Salem (it is worth mentioning that there are some moments in which you will pass through the municipality of Castelló de Rugat, on the way back from this circular route).

Tourist route through the centre of the town of Salem

Walk through the urban heritage, if you want to complete the walk, go to the Poet fountain and its washing place, a very special place, it reminds me of my childhood, to see the women loaded with clothes or with the donkey to carry the heaviest clothes to wash them or to get water for the house. Sensations of yesteryear, sensations that life had other rhythms, calmer, there was more time for everything.

Cotalba Monastery

The Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba is one of the most remarkable and unique monasteries in the Valencian Community.

It was founded in 1388 and is located in Alfauir.
Its style is Gothic-Renaissance and its singular Gothic-Mudejar cloister, one of the few examples of Mudejar art in the Valencian Community, its Main Tower, the Main Church, the Patio de los Naranjos or its 19th century Romantic Gardens stand out.

The visit to the monument lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including the projection of a 20-minute documentary on the history of the Monastery. All the visits are guided and the guide, to be honest, is very good and explains each part or room of the Monastery in great detail.

Walking around the surroundings of the Monastery is highly recommended, full of nature, pine forests and a mountain range that shelters it. It is undoubtedly a great place to spend the day or to get to know a part of the Valencian heritage and history. It is also just a stone's throw from Gandia, which can be combined with a swim at the beach.

Otos

Route of the sundials through the urban centre of the village. There is a guided tour at 11.00 a.m. on Sundays, organised by the town council of Otos.

Carrícola

The word "ecological" lacked all logic in the Spain of the 80s.  Carrícola got right into it and today it is one of the most sustainable municipalities. There, too, ecological art is being made. The Biodivers project is one of the most emblematic and brings together works by Valencian artists in the natural environment of the village. Works spread throughout the territory can be seen in three itineraries: one through the streets of the town, another along the ravine and the last one on the Castell path and the water paths.

On Sunday mornings you can also take part in activities and an alternative market.

Atzaneta and esparto grass.

Esparto grass has been one of the driving forces in the town's economy, practically from the beginning of Atzeneta. You can appreciate this craft in the Museum of Handicrafts or by visiting one of the master esparto grass makers who are still in the village to remind you of the value of well-made handicrafts. Bags and baskets or the espardeñas that you can buy, the houses where you will see esparto grass leaning against the doors.  The irrigation channel is another attraction to see. In the old days it used to go around the village and passed behind the houses that used it as a washing place and to wet the esparto grass to be able to work it in a handmade way.

Rafol de Salem

If you want a flatter route is to get to Rafol de Salem. This route also leaves from La Granja and runs parallel to the stream that runs down from the Font d'Elca, passing by the old mill and fountain of Cantal. The first thing you will see when you get to Rafol is its hermitage and if you still have a lot of energy you can go up the path behind the hermitage and link up with the PR-CV213, with marvellous views.

Routes and Riding Lessons

For the services of routes and riding lessons we offer you the possibility to contact the equestrian centre LCD 15km from La Granja in Albaida.

A real pleasure for our senses to get lost in its endless steps up and down and impossible alleys. Impossible to imagine in our days this way of building houses, one next to the other in the steep terrain.

A real pleasure for our senses to get lost in its endless steps up and down and impossible alleys. Impossible to imagine in our days this way of building houses, one next to the other in the steep terrain.

It got dark and what was a pleasant and curious walk became magical and from another era, as indeed it is. Hidden little squares, tiny hermitages around the corner, viewpoints on the outer-lateral corridors of the neighbourhood. Every nook and cranny is made of well-kept stone and in some corners very well carved.

One never tires of strolling until the slopes take one's breath away. A visit to this old town, which has been declared a historic-artistic site due to its tremendous beauty, is a must. Children will love the Covetes dels Moros. It is a great experience to explore the nooks and crannies of these caves and galleries built in the past by the "Moors" to store the harvest. You just need to be in good physical shape as you have to climb, slide and go through tunnels that are a bit narrow.

In the footsteps of the Borgia family (Gandía and Xátiva).

Cities like Gandía and Xativa are not to be missed. Both are only 20 minutes away from La Granja and the history of the Borgias is fascinating.

Gandía

The Ducal Palace shows us the luxury in which the family lived and the reconversion of Francisco de Borja, changing the power of the court for the ecclesiastical power in the hands of the Jesuit order. Guided and night visits.

Xàtiva

The most striking feature of Xàtiva is the castle, but if you have the chance, don't forget to take a stroll through the streets where the Borgias also walked. Admire the splendid ancestral homes and then lose yourself in the narrow streets of the old town where on Tuesday and Friday mornings there is a market. Ideal for wandering through the streets with so much history around you.

Valencia

The City of Arts and Sciences.

The Palau de les Arts, Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía is a beautiful work of the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. It looks like a fish, or a sailboat, suggesting the close presence of the sea. It is part of Valencia's City of Sciences and Arts complex, a series of futuristic buildings and museums, concert halls and gardens.

The building is 65 metres high and the interior is more than 40,000 square metres dedicated to the arts. The palace is surrounded by gardens and water. The City of Arts has been built on a place where there used to be a river but they dried it up and now it is a garden.

It is a very modern place, which surprises you, especially if you go out of the old part of Valencia, very traditional, with buildings so different from the white concrete facade of this one.

Explore the old town and its history.

Admire the modernist style of the Central Market of Valencia. You will discover the history of the Miguelete and the Cathedral of Valencia.

Water caving (Vallada)

Via Ferrata of Enguera

It is possible to do a 70-metre zip line.

After overcoming the first vertical section we will have views of the village of Enguera from the mountain range. The most technical part of the ferrata is horizontal with an overhang that will test our strength, as although it is very short, it is explosive but accessible if you are in good physical shape. The rest of the ferrata is easier and vertical.

Greenway of the Serpis. Lorxa.

It was a railway track, the tracks of the Tren del Anglesos, which at the end of the 19th century facilitated the communication and transport of goods between Alcoy and Grao de Gandía.

It gradually lost its usefulness and now remains a beautiful spot where you can enjoy the scenery accompanied by the flow of the river Serpis.

We start the route at the old train station of Lorxa and we go through the ravine crossing 5 tunnels and the remains of what was a narrow gauge railway line. We can also see the remains of mills, old power stations, even the remains of tracks and considerable native vegetation, an easy route and always accompanied by the river with beautiful waterfalls. There are times when the gps signal is lost there and it can make some strange things happen, the route can be easily extended.

The rest of the year it is incredible to lose yourself in this beach of about seven kilometres of coastline facing the Mediterranean Sea.
