Routes and paths around
Benicadell. We suggest a visit to the famous Benicadell ice-house,
one of the largest in the area.
Climbing. Benicadell peak, so easily recognisable
from great distances for its graceful crest, is a great attraction
for climbers, with its 250 m wall.
One of the most popular routes is the way up Benicadell, 1.104 m.
high. Do not miss the last 200 m, the prettiest part, with drops of
over 200 metres on both sides.
Other alternatives that you can find are the wide range of hiking
routes and cross-country biking, on which you will be able to enjoy
some lovely trips.
Inland villages very close by with tourist and commercial
appeal.
Atzaneta d¨Albaida .... esparto grass items: rugs, baskets, bags...
In L´Olleria there are glass-making firms: crockery, glassware,
table centrepieces, candelabra, bottles....
In Albaida there are textile companies: sheets, towels, bedspreads,
tablecloth sets....
And here in Salem slippers, sweaters, knitted cardigans...
Towns and villages nearby to visit with great tourist and
cultural interest:
Játiva, Alcoi, Albaida, Moixent, Gandia, Denia, Jávea....
Valencia and the City of Sciences complex.
Benidorm and the Terra Mitica theme park, both an hour and a half’s
drive away.
The white sand beaches closest are Gandia, for a
busier atmosphere and Xeraco and Daimús, with beaches more
for family-type enjoyment.
We advise you to visit “Las Rotas” in Denia and all the
beaches in Jávea.
Salem has a public swimming pool for adults and another one for children
with very cool clean water, a monitor-lifeguard service and a little
bar. The pool is only 2 minutes walk from us.
